Steve was born and raised in Worcester.  He graduated from Saint John’s High School in Shrewsbury where he played football for four years.  After graduating, Steve attend Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History.  Steve played football during his four years at Williams and was a member of the first two undefeated teams in Williams’ football history.

After college, Steve attended New England School of Law in Boston.  After graduating, he worked as an Assistant District Attorney in Worcester County for almost five years.  During that time, he handled all types of cases including being in charge of all of the drug cases in Worcester District Court and trying numerous jury trials in courts throughout the County.

Steve left the District Attorney’s Office for private practice where he worked for a year for the firm of Erb & Erb in Fitchburg.  He began to develop his criminal defense practice during this time while also practicing real estate law and estate planning.

After a year, Steve returned to his hometown of Worcester to work for the firm of Glickman, Sugarman, Kneeland & Gribouski.  His criminal practice continued to expand, and he was in courts throughout the Commonwealth on a daily basis handling all types of criminal matters.  During his seven years working for G,S,K & G, he worked on various criminal matters ranging from simple misdemeanors to serious felonies in district, superior and federal courts across the state.  Steve also further developed his practice to include personal injury matters, real estate closings, civil litigation, traffic ticket defense and estate planning.

In 2011, Steve joined Mel Chacharone, a well known real estate and civil attorney in Worcester where they ran their own firm.  In 2014, respected and experienced attorneys, Seth and Tom Aitken joined the firm creating Aitken, Chacharone and Power Law Offices.  We continue to provide top notch legal services in the areas of criminal defense, real estate law, estate planning, personal injury law, civil litigation, traffic ticket defense and landlord tenant proceedings.

Steve is a resident of Shrewsbury, Massachusetts.  He is married to Maureen (Burke) Power and has four children.  He is active in the community and has coached numerous youth sports including football, baseball and softball for years.
